pdc quandry

I entered the "blog to the pdc" competition last night but now I'm wondering about the gamble this involves.  If I don't buy a ticket now, I risk the conference selling out.  But then I'm potentially out an additional 2k for travel and hotel expenses in addition to the $1500 for the conference if I lose the competition.

I guess if I don't win and I don't want to bite off the travel and lodging expenses, I can sell the ticket on eBay.  So that begs the question - is the conference attendance ticket refundable or transferrable?

FWIW, TechEd registrations were transferrable.

I had the same issue but in one of the posts on the forums the Channel 9 guys said they would reimburse you if you won so go ahead and buy it now.

I feel your doubt. I'm just going to take the gamble: either I win or I'm not going.. Statistically speaking it will be the latter but I just cannot afford it having to pay all for myself.

For the moment I'm an endless optimist: I'll be there :)

Good luck on winning - I think having someone like yourself coming from Europe would make for some great blogging material.

I know what you mean - the expense is pretty high when we're paying for it ourselves. Good luck and I hope to meet you there.
