SQLAssist Released!

Ok, this is really old news (March 20th), but I can’t believe that no one has blogged about it.  I originally learned about this via the Daily Grind.  I guess everyone went out tried the beta said “Wow… that’s buggy, and left.”  Unlike me that is, you see this is a piece of software I have wanted.  I had often considered writing this piece of software… it was one of my dream projects.  So I beta tested it, filing bug reports and doing my darnedest to get this thing to the point of usable… and boy is it!

Ok, so now I have your attention, what is it?  SQLAssist is an enhancement to the VS.Net 2003 and VS.Net 2005 SQL toolbox.  The number one feature is that it adds intellisense to your SQL edit windows; it changes the way you write your SQL statements because you type “Select <enter> From <SomeTablesName> a <CursorUp> a.<intellisense here>.”  It actually smartens up the natice VS.Net SQL editor by adding templates and snippets ala VS.Net 2005 (or CodeRush)… and yes, you can create your own.  I like it a lot, AND at $29 it’s well worth the price (BTW, yep, I got one for free due to my beta testing efforts, but I would have bought one for sure…)  You can get it here (What are you waiting for… go buy it already!).

Congrats to Steve and the team at Roound Polygons!
