DDD7 Call for speakers

We have announced the date for DDD7 as Saturday 22nd November 2008, at Microsoft's campus in Reading (UK). That is a long time out, but we wanted to begin the call for speakers now, to give speakers plenty of time to get their sessions submitted. We will still go to voting much closer to the event, so you have time, but for those of you who have been undecided about committing to speaking in the past, you should have plenty of time.

I'm hoping that we will see a good representation from the Alt.Net community in the submissions for this year's event, so start thinking now.

arrrghhh

Can't submit a session from Israel, the system locks me out.

Would like to submit my MonoRail talk.

Can also do a session on Castle Tools For Web Developer (showing Sitemaps CodeGenerator, DictAdapter, SqlQueryGenerator etc.)

Hi Ken,

We've previously been cautious around international speakers as our goal was to grow the local community. So we have previously said that we prefer local speakers.

It is the one DDD decision that always goes round and around. Building the local community vs. hearing the international voices. We're mulling it over again this time.

From what I am hearing though there may be a desire to do a UK conference on the scale of DDD that welcomes international speakers. I can certainly do one of those, and give it an alt.net focus, but next year.

In the meantime we will have another UK altnetconf. Current dates are looking like 12-13 September but I'll announce here when confirmed.
