Even my Grandmother thinks Offshore Outsourcing is Bad...

I had dinner with my family last night.  Well, it was a special occasion and my grandmother was there.  Getting her out of the nursing home is a task, and well, anyway, let's just say she doesn't get out much.  Well, the funny thing is that what she does do is watch CNN practically 24 hours a day.   She never talks about politics, though, so I've often wondered if she is actually watching, or if it's just on for background noise.   Well, last night someone asked me about work, and I mentioned offshore outsourcing.  My grandma, who often times is not listening to the conversation at all, said “I know all about that, Lou Dobbs has been talking about it lately.”  Well, I was floored that even my grandmother, who most of the time can't remember the name “Saddam” had all this knowledge about how bad offshore outsourcing is for our country.

I mention this, because I realized that this is an issue that Americans, even my grandmother, are taking seriously.  A lot of people have been replying to my earlier posts about this too.  This is good stuff.

Your grandmother needs to be euthenized with a poisonous stinging gas. Even old stinky sponges can soak up a bit of information now and then, it does not mean we have to acknowledge they are worthwhile citizens. Your grandmother is a fool, one who has become high with all the oxygen being pumped into her body. We should have kicked these old coggers out into the streets along time ago. I hope your grandmother dies.

It's a nightmare trying to fix bugs and re-code the junk those clueless oversea idiots have caused our organization. Offshoring is not worth it. As a matter of fact, if they mess up, you'll have to spend more money fixing bugs and in the worse scenario, re-do everything locally!

To the person who insulted Brendan's grandmother:

Everyone is entitled to there own opinion, but is it really necessary to insult the man's grandmother in the process. She might be a very nice lady with far more experience and knowledge than any of us.

To Jeff,

"Offshore idiots".....??

There are many companies offshore. If you are in country X, u have ABCD......YZ countries available for outsourcing. Obviously there are atleast 20 times more companies, than country you live in. Out of those company, if you (or your company) decided to choose "idiot company".

What should you or your company called then?

If we think some1 is "idiot", There will be N number of people who think we are "idiot".

Outsourcing is wrong , these third world countries have access to our identities, its unbelievable, identity theft is on the rise, think about it ! These people in these countries have access to your identitiy information. What makes you think they would not use it to come to this country and steal your identity. This makes me sick, Ross Perot warned of this back in 1992, yet no one listen. These jobs should be kept in America not overseas or South America. It  is an out rage.
